Achille Lauro (Italian pronunciation: [aˈkilːe ˈlauro]; 16 June 1887 – 15 November 1982) was an Italian businessman and politician.He is widely considered one of the main precursors of Italian modern populism.
He was nicknamed by his supporters Il Comandante ("The Commander").
