Benjamin Rath (August 6, 1994 – March 19, 2017) was an Austrian karateka and European Champion in Goju-ryu.Rath took up karate lessons at the age of ten.
After having trained at ASKÖ Karate Club Wolfsberg for several years, he switched to train under Marco Kassmannhuber at Inoue-ha Karate-do Feldkirchen.
He was the first karateka to win the gold medal in the singles category at the European Goju-Ryu Karate Championships.
Rath was one of Austria's most successful karateka.Rath died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 22.The cause of death remains unclear.
