James Luther "Luke" Sewell (January 5, 1901 – May 14, 1987) was an American professional baseball player, coach and manager.He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher for the Cleveland Indians (1921–1932, 1939), Washington Senators (1933–1934), Chicago White Sox (1935–1938) and the St.
Louis Browns (1942).Sewell batted and threw right-handed.He was regarded as one of the best defensive catchers of his era.
