Elfego Baca (February 10, 1865 – August 27, 1945) was a gunman, lawman, lawyer, and politician in New Mexico; during the later years of the New Mexico Territory frontier he became an American folk hero.
His goal in life was to be a peace officer, and for "the outlaws to hear [his] steps a block away".
Walt Disney Presents featured a Western television serial entitled The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca, which was later compiled into the movie Elfego Baca: Six Gun Law.
