Eliza Ruhamah Scidmore

Eliza Ruhamah Scidmore (/'s?dm??r/) (1856–1928) was an American author, geographer, and photographer, who became the first woman to sit on the board of trustees of the National Geographic Society.

She visited Japan many times between 1885 and 1928.
