Eugenio Scalfari (Italian: [eu'd???njo 'skalfari]; 6 April 1924 – 14 July 2022) was an Italian journalist.He was editor of the news magazine L'Espresso (1963–1968), a member of parliament in the Chamber of Deputies (1968–1972), and co-founder of the newspaper La Repubblica and its editor from 1976 to 1996.
