Florence Ellinwood Allen

Florence Ellinwood Allen was a United States federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 1934-1959.

Allen served on the Supreme Court of Ohio from 1922 until 1934. She was the first woman to serve on a state supreme court, and the first woman to serve as an Article III United States federal judge.

In 2005, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
