Courken George Deukmejian Jr. (/djuːkˈmeɪdʒən/;June 6, 1928 – May 8, 2018) was an American politician who served as the 35th governor of California from 1983 to 1991.
Of Armenian descent, Deukmejian was a member of the Republican Party and he also served as the attorney general of California from 1979 to 1983.
