James Beriah Frazier (October 18, 1856 – March 28, 1937) was an American politician who served as the 28th governor of Tennessee from 1903 to 1905, and subsequently as a United States senator from Tennessee from 1905 to 1911.
As governor, he reduced the state's debt and enacted mine safety regulations.He also attempted to control whitecapping.The controversial manner in which the state legislature elected him to the U.S.
Senate (as was customary at the time) created a critical rift in the state's Democratic Party that lasted into the 1910s.
