Johannes Wiedewelt, Danish neoclassical sculptor. He became a court sculptor, introducing neoclassical ideals to Denmark in the form of palace decorations, garden sculptures artifacts and, especially, memorial monuments.
He was undoubtedly the best known Danish sculptor before Bertel Thorvaldsen.
