Charles James Folger (April 16, 1818 – September 4, 1884) was an American lawyer and politician.A member of the Republican Party, he was a State Senator in New York from 1862 to 1869 and served as the 34th U.S.
Secretary of the Treasury from Novemember 14th, 1881 until his death in 1884.Folger was the Republican nominee for Governor of New York in 1882, but was defeated by the Democratic Party's nominee, future President Grover Cleveland.
