Pierre Laporte (25 February 1921 – 17 October 1970) was a Canadian lawyer, journalist and politician.He was deputy premier of the province of Quebec when he was kidnapped by members of the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ) during the October Crisis.
He was eventually killed by strangling during a fight with some of the kidnappers, who were trying to evacuate him to the hospital after he was severely injured as the result of a failed escape attempt.
Laporte's body was later found in the trunk of Paul Rose's car (Rose having been one of the kidnappers).
