Valerie Jean Maynard (August 22, 1937 – September 19, 2022) was an American sculptor, teacher, printmaker, and designer.Maynard's work frequently addressed themes of social inequality and the civil rights movement.
Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Sweden and Lagos, Nigeria.She had been selected for residencies in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and New York City and received a New York Foundation for the Arts grant in printmaking.
Maynard resided in Baltimore, Maryland.
