Filippo Lussana was an Italian physiologist. His medical research addressed the laws of nutrition, the functions of the nervous system, cerebral localization, gustatory innervation, the relationship between touch and pain, and the causes of dizziness and pellagra.
Lussana authored more than two hundred scientific publications and received two gold medals from the Royal Society of Medical Sciences and Natural Sciences in Brussels and the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium for his studies on "Fiber and Blood" and "Monograph on the Encephalic Centers".
